Sparta enjoy Champions League return with 3-0 win over Salzburg

Striker Lukas Haraslin continued his impressive start to the season with a goal in each half as Sparta Prague returned to the Champions League group stages with a convincing 3-0 victory over Salzburg.

The Czech champions, who last featured in the competition proper in 2005, took the lead in the 24th minute when Haraslin latched onto a loose ball in the area and fired home.

Haraslin doubled Sparta's advantage just before the hour mark, converting a penalty after Benjamin Sesko had been adjudged to have fouled David Hancko.

Substitute Adam Hlozek added a third in the 80th minute with a clinical finish into the bottom corner.

The result leaves Sparta top of Group G after the opening round of matches, with Lille and Wolfsburg drawing 0-0 in the other game.
