Basketball is a beloved tradition in the Hoosier State, and Special Olympics Indiana's annual state basketball tournaments are among the largest in North America. This year, the tournaments will return to the hardwood with athletes and Unified Partners from across the state competing for gold.
Special Olympics Indiana Offers Year-Round Training
Special Olympics Indiana offers year-round sports training and athletic competition in more than 20 Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The organization provides opportunities for individuals to develop physical fitness, build self-confidence, and forge friendships through the power of sports.
The annual state basketball tournaments are a highlight of the Special Olympics Indiana calendar. This year's tournaments will be held on Saturday, March 11th and Sunday, March 12th at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis.
As part of the weekend's events, the Indiana Pacers will host a basketball clinic for Special Olympics athletes on Saturday, March 11th beginning at 10:00 am. The clinic will provide athletes with the opportunity to learn from and interact with some of their favorite Pacers players.
